Family
I grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota where my parents were stateside missionaries for over 20 years. My parents taught me the importance of living a Christ centered life devoted to helping others and serving our father in heaven. I grew up as the youngest with three older sisters, all of which have been and are presently involved in domestic and international missions.
Education and Experience
After I graduated from Jackson Christian High School in 2002, I decided to attend the AIM (Adventures in Missions) program. I was biblically trained for 9 months then sent to Tauranga, New Zealand for 18 months to work as a missionary apprentice under one of the current elders Chris Miller. Following my AIM apprenticeship, I was given the opportunity to work as the Youth Minister for the Woodward Park Church of Christ in Fresno, California. My involvement was with a youth group of about 70 students for a year and a half.
My missions experience has continually been enhanced with the many different countries I have had the opportunity to serve in. These countries include the U.S.A., Jamaica, Honduras, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia, China, Ethiopia, and Togo West Africa. Each opportunity convicted me of the desperate need to take the name of Christ to the lost in every nation of the world. Presently, I am finishing up my training at Harding University. I will be graduating in December of 2008 with a double major in Interactive Media and Vocational Ministry. I am planning on furthering my education by getting my masters degree, possibly in Christian Ministry.
My Passion
Over the last 5-7 years God has convicted me to dedicate myself to His service in foreign missions. I have opened up myself to several opportunities in order to see where He might be able to use me most. I have experienced African missions, Asian mission opportunities, Central American, and possibilities in Oceania. As a result, I have decided to dedicate the next 5 years of my life to the Lord’s work in New Zealand.
After about three years I was finally able to make the commitment. It came after seeking council and examining the talents God has given me. My passion is grounded in my past experience with the churches and culture in New Zealand. I have committed to fulfill Ezekiel 34:16 with the Otumoetai Congregation. “I will search for the lost and bring back the strays, I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak…” Ezekiel 34:16
